Pour travailler Aldi il faut une bonne condition physique et aimer faire ce qu'on vous dit. Pas d'initiative... uniquement être un bon soldat.

The company has been growing in the sense of sales and locations over the last few years. I just don't understand how it is possible not to restructure the amount of people you have per shift to relieve the amount of stress due to increase of sales.

ALDI does the minimum to make sure it’s employees feel appreciated, in my experience. Most stores I worked at had very low employee morale and the management was very unprofessional in most cases. You only get one half-hour break on sometimes a 9 hour shift, also sometimes your break being at the end of your shift. Also their definition of “full-time” is a joke. You rarely get over 30 hours. You work extremely hard for what seems like insufficient compensation. Overall I would not recommend this job to anyone.
Points négatifs
Short Breaks, Physically Demanding, Poor Management, Poor Work Environment

Poor management with no compassion for their employees. They work every employee to The bone. Very hard to get any time off.

Training wasn’t that well but after you get the hang of things it’s not bad if you don’t mind being constantly busy. Pay was alright for the most part.

They work you like a dog and the pay does not reflect it. Management does not stand behind you when dealing with customers. They are worried about their bottom line at the end of the day. They do offer benefits but you have a huge deductible. The bigger the company gets the less (store) employees you see but Upper management continues to grow. Never seem to have equipment that works properly.
Points positifs
Paid to work your butt off
Points négatifs
Too many to list...

ALDI is perfect for the type of person who doesn’t mind sacrificing their life for a paycheck. For me, it wasn’t. As an intern, they worked me 50+ weekly, had me commute 1-4 hours daily and has a toxic work culture. Can’t deny that they pay DMs /interns well but don’t believe them when they pitch a work life a balance or any sort of diversity efforts.

Store manager was toxic, never any positive reinforcement. You’re told to do 62 different things and asked why whatever didn’t get done. Don’t waste your time.
Points positifs
Okay benefits and pay
Points négatifs
Overworked, over stressed, and they don’t care if you have a family.

Ive been working at Aldi for a while now and things have become unbearable. There is no support for the shift managers or associates from upper management which makes things extremely stressful. We've had several people quit with in the last month because of how toxic the work environment has become. My co workers and shift managers are great, but they arent supported or guided by upper management either. It is extremely hard work with not enough pay.
Points positifs
great health insurance, 401K, PTO, sick leave
Points négatifs
no support from management, stressful enviornment, workers dont feel appreciated.

Aldi is a great company if you are someone who hates to be bored at work. There is always something that needs to be done. The time flies by when you're working because you will be constantly completing a task. The pay is better than other similar jobs but you definitely earn it. The work-life balance is the only con because of the hours in the store and scheduling. Overall though its a great place to work.
Points positifs
Compensation is higher than the competitors
Points négatifs
Work-life balance is something that's tough considering the schedule

I enjoyed my time working at Aldi even though it was for a short period of time as I was employed as temporary staff at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic as demand in supermarkets was very high so they needed extra staff so supply met demand (getting stock onto the shelves quick enough)

The job is super physically demanding, but if you're fit it's not too bad. The store I worked at was constantly understaffed though so I and my coworkers got forced into extra time and pushed to work faster than usual. Part of why we were understaffed was due to the store manager running people off to the point that having one or two people a month just walk out of the job was the usual.

Honestly, if I'd had a store manager who didn't push/torment people for no reason, I would still work there.
Points positifs
Benefits, wage, lots of hours
Points négatifs
poor management ruins the whole thing

Don’t even bother applying at this horrible company! No structure at all, bad HR, no work/life balance, expects you to do everything at once while the managers are in the back room on their phones.

Your time and effort would be much more appreciated anywhere else but here.
Points positifs
None
Points négatifs
No structure, bad management, work like a robot.

Aldi was fun and enjoyable to work for at first. They offer a bunch of over time and if you’re lucky your manager(s) are willing to train you. But as time went on, the company expected 1 or 2 people to do the work of 4 or 5 people in a 6 (or shorter) hour shift. Expect your body to wear down at a fast pace and experience difficulty managing your stress levels.
Points positifs
Fast paced work environment, decent pay
Points négatifs
Apathetic upper management

This is a good place to know that you will be getting hours. It is A LOT of hard work, as an assoicate you do everything. You are on registar, you restock, you do everything. It can be stressful because their is always the bare minium of employees on the floor which can not be great when someone doesn't show up.
Points positifs
Pay
Points négatifs
Manual labor

Typical shop attitude this place exactly the same as Tesco unless you a manager you are treated like rats, unless you take out the manger for a *special* time will be treated like dirt. It's a shame because most of the staff were nice apart from the *special* time ones.
Points positifs
Getting a proper job afterwards
Points négatifs
Being asked for *special* time by the ugly manager

I have been at Aldi for 3.5 years now. The job pays very well and has excellent benefits. Opportunities for advancement are plentiful. I originally started as a part time associate, transitioned to full time after ~3 months and ~5 months after that was promoted to shift manager. Applicants rarely believe me when I tell them it is a lot of hard work, and many do not make it through the first month or so. If you're willing to put in the work and physical exertion, it can be a very rewarding place to be.
