Much individual academic freedom is determining a lot. Researchers organise themselves as needed. This is both interesting and challenging. The quality of teaching, student support, PhD supervision, communication with supporting staff, etc. is highly dependent on the individual researchers in the different research groups. Some are very organised, efficient, communicative, others are chaotic, not caring, isolated.
