Your team and your responsibilities:
Team/division description

Vehicle Performance Engineering division

Our mission is to ensure that Toyota vehicles deliver a unique mobility experience for European customers. By leveraging ever-better methods, data-driven insights, and human-centric approaches, we establish competitive targets and optimize performance.


ADAS – UX team

Our mission is to secure highly competitive, inspirational ADAS/AD products that exceed future user expectations. Our scope includes evaluating and enhancing ADAS systems for European drivers, conducting user research, and developing innovative concepts.


Your project


This internship contributes to our efforts to leverage digital tools and AI initiatives for vehicle performance development. The main tasks include:


  • Research state-of-the-art driver modeling and control methods
  • Design and calibrate models to capture EU customer driving styles
  • Evaluate the designed models in the driving simulator with diverse participants
  • Develop a framework to evaluate and validate driver behaviour models by using Python/MATLAB to analyse different datasets

Your Profile:
  • You are fluent in English (TME’s business language)
  • You are a Master student in Engineering, specializing in AI, Data Science, Systems and Control, or a related field
  • You have demonstrated programming skills in MATLAB or Python, with a focus on data processing and model development
  • You have a strong interest in applying AI and data insights to vehicle performance and user experience (UX) evaluation
  • Knowledge of UX research and human-centric evaluation methods is an asset
  • You are a team player and have excellent organisation skills

  • Between August and September
Duration
  • 6 months

Due to business requirement, not all performed projects can be reflected in the internship report. This issue needs to be discussed with candidate/school in advance.

It is mandatory that applicants are students for the entire period of the internship.

We can only accept students with an EEA or Swiss citizenship (not requiring a work permit or visa to be eligible to perform an internship in Belgium)
