For our HQ office in Antwerp we are currently looking for an

Experienced Accountant

As an experienced accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing financial operations for multiple countries within the VGP group. You will ensure compliance with local accounting regulations while adhering to group standards, reporting directly to the CFO. The role requires a combination of strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a multinational environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Serve as the central accountant for several countries within the VGP group, overseeing and coordinating financial operations.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements for different countries in compliance with both local GAAP and IFRS.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
• Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits for the designated countries.
• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations within the VGP group.
• Support the preparation of VAT and other tax returns in compliance with local regulations.
• Collaborate with the country finance teams to ensure alignment and consistency in financial processes and reporting.
• Assist in the development and improvement of accounting systems and processes to streamline operations.
• Support ad-hoc projects and financial analysis as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a multinational environment.
• Experience with tax compliance, VAT returns, and other local regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (experience with Oracle Netsuite is a plus).
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment.
• Fluency in English is required; additional European languages are an asset.
