For the EGM Market Risk team we are currently looking for a Market Risk Analyst (F/M/X) based in Brussels.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES as Market Risk Analyst

  • Ensure that all trading activities are in line with the market risk requirements of the EGM & S&EM Risk Policy and the approved limits framework by setting and enforcing market risk limits, reporting and analysing Market risk , tailoring globally consistent monitoring and control processes to suit local requirements and by analysing the market, liquidity, model, and physical risks
  • Calibrate, monitor and control Local and Global Risk Mandates for new and existing activities
  • challenge of Front Office hedging strategies in a proactive and constructive way ensuring we reach an optimal risk/reward ratio in line with risk appetite;
  • Assess the risk for new transactions / products requiring specific market risk validation
  • Maintain and improve Market Risk tools and reporting templates;
  • Cooperate closely with different stakeholders to ensure coherent implementation of the global market risk framework.

YOUR PROFILE as Market Risk Analyst


  • You hold a Master or MBA and have obtained some relevant work experience in energy and commodities trading
  • Demonstrated coding skills with Python;
  • Understanding of commodity markets, instruments, products to assess their impact on market risk indicators.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles, methodologies, and best practices;
  • Strong analytical and investigative mindset with the ability to challenge assumptions and identify root causes;
  • High level of integrity for work output and able to manage conflicting demands.
  • You are able to communicate orally and in writing about complex risk concepts and findings to stakeholders at all levels of the organization;
  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions about market risk exposures;
  • You are a collaborative teamplayer
